Welcome to the New Canaan Field Club

Since its founding in 1957 at its present beautiful wooded 12-acre site, the New Canaan Field Club has provided members and guests with more than sixty-five years of sports, recreation and entertainment for the whole family.

Organized with the founding members’ primary interest in racket sports in mind, the Club opened with two Har-tru tennis courts, two paddle courts and a pool, but over the years it has successfully developed and maintained new amenities that address changing needs.

Today the Club features ten Har-tru tennis courts, four lighted platform tennis courts, a large 25-meter, six-lane swimming pool with diving well, a wading pool and playground for young children, an idyllic pond, and various social pavilions for entertaining. Members and their families and guests can also enjoy pickleball, a children’s summer camp, fishing in our idyllic pond,  and, in the recently constructed Field House, year-round use of the kitchen facilities for private gatherings, all in a relaxed and refined – yet modest – atmosphere.

In addition to recreational sports activities, the Club offers a range of interclub league and County competitions in tennis, paddle, swimming and water polo.

Members and Professionals at the Club have been recognized for their involvement and leadership of league, tournament, meet and other activities across tennis, swimming and paddle. These have occurred at the Town, charitable, Fairfield County, and National levels.

The Club has a membership of over 300 families in several classes. After an initiation fee, semi-annual dues payments are entailed, which are discounted when a member becomes a senior member at age 55 and a super-senior member at 70.

The Club is managed by a Board of Governors whose various members represent all of the Club’s activities. A wide range of captains, volunteers and member committees guide many of the recreational and competitive programs.

The Club grounds are beautifully and tastefully maintained and kept in tip-top condition year round.

For its members, who treasure its spirit of camaraderie and good sportsmanship, the Club is a home away from home.
