J. P. McConnell – Paddle Director

J. P. is very excited to be returning to NCFC for his 7th season as the Director of Platform Tennis.  He has 20 years of teaching experience working with both juniors and adults and enjoys competing in area tournaments as well.  For the past 12 years, J. P. has been the Director of Tennis at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY.  J.P. holds the highest certifications for the U.S.P.T.R. (Tennis), P.P.T (Platform Tennis), and U.S.P.T.A. (Pickle ball)  J. P. played NCAA division I tennis at Colgate University where he graduated with a B.A. and majored in economics.

Ben Zuckerberg – Junior Paddle Director/Assistant Pro

Ben is excited to teach all ages and ability levels and has been doing so for 13 years. He brings a high level of energy to the court that gets his pupils ready to learn and play.

Ben looks forward to spearheading the junior program, allowing the kids to not only have fun, but get acclimated to the game as well. Ben has taught many kids from a young age, all the way up to the collegiate level. He has coached teams, private lessons, clinics, and match play formatted tennis. He is very familiar with ten and under tennis which we will be applying throughout all of our lessons.

As a player, Ben was a 3-time state champion at Amity High School, as well as achieving a ranking as high as 3 in New England and top 100 in the country. He played his college tennis at Indiana university.

Ben looks forward to meeting all of you, and he can’t wait to get on the court with you to bring your games to the next level!!

Gary Squires – Men’s/Women’s Teams & Clinics

Gary has been a Head Pro/Director of Racquet Sports at private clubs in Westchester and Fairfield County for over 30 years. For the past sixteen years, Gary was the Director of Tennis and Platform Tennis at the Fox Meadow Tennis Club in Scarsdale, NY.  During his tenure there, member participation in both men’s and women’s league play tripled in both tennis and platform tennis, and the size of the junior tennis program more than doubled.

Gary grew up in Rye, NY where he began playing tennis as a child at the Manursing Island Club.  Gary was the captain of the Varsity Tennis and Squash teams at the Trinity-Pawling School and is a member of the Tennis Hall of Fame there.  He played number one on the Varsity Tennis team at Hartwick College.  Gary got his professional training at the John Gardner Tennis Ranch in Carmel Valley, California and is a PTR certified professional.
