CORRECTION: The big tree at the entrance has NOT been cut and removed – it is still there. But it is correct that power lines remain down in the driveway.
The entire staff, tennis, pool, and Danny’s crew worked tirelessly the last few days to clear debris and get prepared to open.
The problem, and it’s a big one: the main service line that powers the club. Like thousands of others, the club has no power. Eversource has been notified. Unfortunately the club is not considered a priority. It’s wait and hope. It’s reminiscent of Hurricane Irene 9 years ago, late August – we were closed for 6 days. We wish we had better news.
Aquatics is planning to schedule an end-of-season celebration when power is available and the pool is safe to use. Stay tuned for more information when available.
Tennis adult lessons and clinics are starting despite the power outage – but no children’s activities because of the downed wires. Adults can park at the entrance and walk in to the courts. You can call the pros on their cell phones or call Tim at 772-494-3095 or use firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule lessons.
From the Camp Directors: “We hope this email finds you well. We thank you for your patience over the past few days as we were hoping to hear good news from the Club.
Unfortunately, the power has not yet been restored, and it has not been safe to run the last three days of camp. We are disappointed we had to cut an already crazy year short.”
Stay safe everyone.
