6/17/20: Pool Usage Update

Aquatics Update

Dear Families,

Welcome to the summer of 2020! We know this season at NCFC will look a little different, but we are hard at work preparing to make this summer as fun as possible.

Keep in mind that the locker rooms will not be available for changing and all swimmers should come to the pool with their suit already on!

Swimming Schedule

Swimming will be offered at 4 different times throughout the morning:

7:00 – 8:00 AM Adult / Masters (year round high school swimmers and adults, specific sign up is below)

8:15 – 9:15 Swim Group 1

9:30 – 10:15 Swim Group 2

10:30 – 11:15 Swim Group 3

**Please note that Swim Groups 2 & 3 have slightly changed times to accommodate COVID guidelines**

15 minute breaks have been built into the schedule to allow for cleaning and disinfecting. This week, pool staff will be reaching out to families to sign up for Groups. Groups 1, 2, and 3 will all cater to Bandits of all levels. We want families to commit all siblings to one practice time in an effort to maintain social distancing. Swimmers will be assigned to lanes, and swimmers will start at opposite ends to maintain social distancing throughout the summer. Further information about practice expectations will be sent out on Sunday.

Water Polo

Players need to bring their own water polo balls to practice. Children aged 10/under use size 2, 11 to 13 use size 4, and 14 and up use size 5. Here are two ordering options:

Water polo this summer will be split into two practice sessions. Coaches will assign children into the groups based on age and skill.

11:30 – 12:00 Water Polo Group 1 (whole pool)

12:15 – 1:00 Water Polo Group 2 (deep end only)

Water Polo Group 1 will be for younger players. The pool will be split into 3 sections using the lane lines and practice will focus on shooting, dribbling, and other individual skills to maintain social distancing throughout the workout.

Water Polo Group 2 will be for our older players and limited in size as we have a smaller area to work with. Again individual skills will be the focus and social distancing will remain a priority throughout.

More information to follow on Sunday regarding pick up and drop off times and procedures.

Morning Adult Workout

In light of COVID closing most gyms and other places of physical fitness, we are excited to announce a morning workout for adults. Each weekday morning from 7:00 am to 8:00 am there will be a swim practice run by Drew or Brandon. In order to respect social distancing and Health Department guidelines, this group will be limited to 18 or less participants. Swimmers will always start at opposite ends of the pool and if necessary the middle. This way there is never more than one person stopped at the ends of each lane.

In order to structure this group properly, there will be required daily sign ups for the week starting each Saturday. If you are interested in participating, please click here and submit the brief form so we can include you in the SUG group.

Pool Conditions Posting

Current conditions, including storm or other emergency closures are available on the right side of the member home page. Information is updated as frequently as necessary by an on-site pool staff member.

We are looking forward to the summer getting started and will see you soon!
