Club Update

5/14/20

Hello Members,

I hope all is well with you and your families.

As you might expect, I have been fielding a lot of questions from our Club’s Member/Owners. Your support through these difficult times and your kind emails are much appreciated. We are working hard every day to make this summer season as positive an experience as possible.

Tennis is up and running with the important guidelines that Tim, our Director of Tennis has sent out to you.

We started a family doubles ladder program Monday night and sign ups were at the maximum. Thank you to the families that are playing in this new activity.

Tim and his team have also added some additional programs: Ladies’ Team Practices, Men’s Singles Ladder, and a Parent-Child Event. Response to all has been gratifying, and he has already added additional time slots in order to accommodate more members.

Pool update: The town has given us the okay to take the cover off and we will get that going now. They will then let us know the next steps needed to allow us to open it. Unfortunately we will miss Memorial day weekend. They mentioned that the go-ahead will probably be for a mid June opening. Of course we need to follow their guidelines.

I am working with the Pool Task Force on layouts of our tables and lounge chairs. Some members have suggested the possibility of members bringing their own chairs. That could be a good idea, but then people would have to space themselves apart properly. We will advise once we get the cover off and try some scenarios for the layout. Please be patient as this is all new to everyone and we have to follow the guidelines and not cut any corners.

Regarding the summer camp: the good news is we will be able to open on 6/29, just one week later than originally scheduled. The Camp Task Force is working on the details on how camp will be operated. So please stay tuned for the camp directors’ emails which will coming out soon.

Please sign up for camp now, and if you later decide to withdraw your children, we will allow refunds. Our issues are making sure we staff accordingly; we have to commit to hiring people soon. Of course we are following all the guidelines.

Feel free to reach out to Membership or myself and we will do our best to answer your questions with the latest information we have.

Yours truly,

Mike Simko, President
